G-SHOCK – Never Give Up

In the early 1980s, Kikuo Ibe was Casio’s leading watch designer. In 1981, he founded a project team with only three members that was meant to realize Ibe’s vision of an indestructible watch. Their efforts aimed to realize the Triple 10 concept. Various materials have been tested, the shock resistance of the first prototypes was subjected to the toughest requirements.

The young Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe tirelessly realized his dream of developing an ultra-robust watch that does not matter to knocks, bumps and falls. „Willpower“ meets „Overtime“. Giving up was out of the question.

In 1983, the almost „indestructible“ watch DW-5600 came into the trade and the history of G-SHOCK began. Since then, G-SHOCK has accompanied people who never give up. DJs, hiphop, skate, snowboard and trick bike pros have known this for more than thirty years. Be tough. Do it anyway. Do your own thing and be ahead of time.

Triple 10

Battery life of 10 years, waterproof up to 10 bar water pressure and shock resistance from up to 10 metres drop depth. These are the three original requirements of the Triple 10 concept. The sturdy shape and robust design were created with the developers demand for an unbreakable watch. Since the launch of the first G-SHOCK in 1983, the watches have been continuously developed without losing the unique base design

Shock resistance

Even if life runs less orderly than time, watches should still not get out of the beat. Wherever it says „shockproof“, you can assume that thanks to sophisticated suspension mechanisms and housing structures, a lot can be plugged in.

Stop function

The stop function of a G-SHOCK facilitates exact measurement. Expired times are measured to the second. The measuring capacity of the watch lasts up to 24 hours.

Daily alarm

The daily alarm reminds you of daily recurring events, in which an acoustic signal sounds at the set time.

Vibration resistant

The watch module is even more resistant to shocks and vibrations. Strong vibrations are effectively dampened.

Mineral glass

The hard, scratch-resistant mineral glass protects the watch from unsightly damage.

Waterproof up to 20 bar (ISO 22810)

Perfect for freediving without devices: The watch is tested for water resistance up to 20 bar/200 metres in accordance with ISO 22810.
