Tradesmen, freelancers or farmers who drive a company vehicle (which is used to more than 50 percent operationally) privately must initiate a taxable withdrawal. According to the Income Tax Act, the so-called 1% regulation must be applied for the valuation, according to which one percent of the domestic gross list price of the car is to be charged at the time of first registration plus special equipment.

Notes for employees

The 1% regulation is also important for employees. Drivers of company cars usually have to tax private trips, because a monetary advantage is assumed here. Depending on the manufacturer, model and equipment, several thousand euros per year can be additional tax burden.
