How to recognise original Canon inks?

Pay attention to the hologram. A unique Canon colour changing hologram is featured on the packaging of all original Canon inks. The hologram appears as iridescent gold when viewed from above and changes to a dark iridescent green when viewed from the side.

Fake holograms do not change colour at all or only slightly when viewed from different angles. Often they are shown in the wrong colour or size, or are indistinct or appear blurry or damaged.

Inks in plastic packaging

European plastic or blister multipacks are also offered without the unique hologram. Pay attention to the Canon logo: If it is blurry or shown in the wrong colour or font size, it is a counterfeit product. It may also happen that the packaging contains typos or looks as if it were reused, resealed, or otherwise used.
